When Tough Love Isn't Loving

Open your eyes, take a look at me.
It’s about time for accountability.

You gave me tough love, now it’s your turn.
You can’t just light a match and watch the world burn.

We were suffocated, panic stole our breaths
Instead of helping us, you’re the cause of our deaths.

You witnessed the torture, you saw us mutilated.
It would have been less bad if you hadn’t advocated.

Because you’re not my friend. We are not allied.
You forgot love while tough; thought “Success!” when I cried.

You failed all of the children, you didn’t fail just me.
You told us we were bad and left our hearts thirsty.

You could have helped instead of hurt. You were strong to succeed.
But instead you watched kids destroyed and thought it a good deed.

There’s a hell for abusers, but that’s nothing compared to you.
Because you saw evil winning and applauded as it grew.

You could have changed the world, you had the power in your hands.
Now that you have failed, we’re stuck in evil’s prison commands.

You will be in chains and your sufferings will have no ends.
When you ask for my help, I’ll say,”No, I only help friends.”

I’m stuck in this hell, too, and there’s no saving me.
But at least I don’t have the guilt of being Satan’s devotee.
